By using the techniques proven through the science of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the BT will work one-on-one with a child to reduce, redirect, and even eliminate behaviors. This impacts not only the child by helping them communicate and complete basic and advanced life skills... but it also impacts the family by providing them with a way to truly connect with their child.

POSITION DETAILS
As a Behavior Technician/ Registered Behavior Technician, you will work one on one with children with autism spectrum disorder, providing ABA therapy, whether it be from a patient's home, school, or in the community.
As a Behavior Technician, you will:
- Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy in the home and community environments
- Follow an individualized treatment plan tailormade by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to address and improve deficits
- Implement behavior plans created by the BCBA
- Collect data through observation and submit detailed session notes
- Participate in training and team meetings
- Collaborate with supervisors and peers
Some of the areas you will address with your client may include:
- Language acquisition
- Functional communication training
- Social skills training
- Daily living skills
- Decreasing maladaptive behaviors
- Community safety skills
- Toilet training
- Executive function training
Requirements to become a Behavior Technician (BT):
- Experience working with children is required. Some related roles include: paraprofessional, special education, direct care worker, behavior support, behavior interventionist, child care, classroom aid, early childhood, and pediatrics
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is highly preferred
- Minimum educational requirement of a High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have completed the online 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training course OR must complete it within the first 30 days of employment (with our help & guidance, of course!)
- RBT certification is not required but is a plus
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to obtain required certifications and training (i.e. First Aid)
- Reliable transportation with a current and clear driver’s license Ability to pass a criminal background check including child abuse clearances
