JOB DESCRIPTION

NSF is looking to add an Independent Contractor to join our team as an IC Product Certification Auditor based out of the Miami, FL area. As the IC Auditor you will play a crucial role in the mission of NSF. In this role, you will be responsible for providing audit services to Certification programs and other NSF clients throughout the Miami, FL area. You will be expected to schedule your own audits to complete and will need to be able to work 2-3 weeks per month. A typical audit can range from 2-5 days at a rate of up to $650 per audit day.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health, related science, or business
  • Two (2) years related industry auditing experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain a profession registration (environmental health, engineering, or related profession)
  • Must have a valid driver license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel up and complete audits up to a 150 mile radius of Miami, FL
  • Live within 100 miles of Miami, FL
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to open a business entity if you do not already have one

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in environmental health, related science or business
  • Experience auditing or with quality control
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience working in the public or private sector in industry
  • Work experience as a chemist, microbiologist, or related quality function
  • Prior experience working with dietary supplements along with cosmetics or OTC drugs
  • Lead Auditor Certification, HAACP or PCQI Certification
  • Professional registration
  • Foreign language skills (Spanish, French, other languages)

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monitoring and initial audits
  • Manage enforcement issues stemming from certification audits
  • Provide a timely report of corrective actions
  • Conduct special visits to investigate product failures and verify the implementation of corrective actions taken by NSF clients
  • Investigate and resolve complaints
  • Develop cost effective work plans for the completion of assigned audits
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with program representatives and project managers as it relates to assigned clients
  • Monitor and report client needs, service delivery issues, and competitive threats to management team
  • Develop business by responding to inquiries, conducting introductory visits, conducting seminars, and attending conferences in support of NSF’s business units (as authorized)
  • Support NSF’s business units by assisting clients in the identification of additional NSF services that may be beneficial (examples – new products for certification, test only services, quality system registration)
  • Perform other duties as requested
