A growing, stable, vertically integrated Real Estate development company seeks a key executive to join our finance and development team. We are looking for a self-starter, highly motivated, analytical hands-on controller/manager in charge of all the financial operations and sophisticated tax and investor reporting requirements for our 65+ privately held entities.

Job Expectations:
Perform high level of financial statement & Tax preparation and analysis for companies within the overall organization.
Preparation and analytical review of quarterly financial reports
Assist in the preparation and review of construction loan draws and cost certifications.
Prepare work papers and control workflow for 50+ audits and tax returns prepared by outside accounting firms.
Oversee, motivate, and cultivate your accounting department including payroll & HR functions.
Interface with investor partners, lenders, and outside attorneys
Responsible for budgeting, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations
Perform accounting for property loan conversions & exiting of limited partners.
Recommend & implement efficiencies in our financial systems.
Responsible for the Affordable Care Act, pension workman’s compensation reporting, and insurance audits
Explore challenging tax areas such as Ozone businesses, 1031 exchanges, and private letter rulings.
Assist in the preparation of various state-mandated financial reports.
Serves as a valued resource in all aspects of accounting.
Strategic planning & technology updates/efficiencies
Hands-on productive position working with and overseeing your team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- High degree of analytical ability, and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task projects and resolve operational issues.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Exceptional time & task management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a public accounting firm – 5 years plus
- CPA, or working toward a CPA certification.
- Background in partnership taxation
- QuickBooks Experience
Compensation:
· Base Pay $130,000 - $140,000+ Commensurate with experience
