Role Description
The Audio-Visual Technician will be responsible for the design, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of AV Systems. The AV Technician will also be responsible for the setup of video conferencing systems, speaker sound systems and configurations of acoustics.
Additionally, the Audio-Visual Technician will be expected to provide technical support to our in-house teams and clients, when they visit the campus, ensuring that all audio and visual components and systems are working correctly.
Responsibilities:
- Strong knowledge of Audio Visual (AV) Systems including but not limited to sound systems, switchers, wireless systems, and control systems.
- Responsible for end-user support for all of the audio-visual equipment
- Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and cameras.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to be able to resolve any technical issues that arise with audio and video equipment, components and/ or systems
- Complete Preventative Maintenance visits to ensure all client rooms and systems are operating in an optimum fashion.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Works with the business service teams to assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of large events.
- Provides technical support for conference rooms at multiple local locations including sound equipment, teleconferencing, video conferencing and other audio-visual support as appropriate.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of related work in a professional environment
- Proven track record delivering professional AV/VC solutions either to the industry itself or in a professional services environment required
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
- Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
- Intuitive customer service skills, able to anticipate AV needs
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple requests
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
- Familiarity with basic network related terminology (e.g. hub, switch, jacks, etc.). Familiarity with diagnosing/resolving basic network related issues and with layout of a typical LAN closet
- Flexible for overtime with short notice
- May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
- May require travel to other offices as needed
