Audio Visual Specialist

The Weekapaug Inn offers quintessentially New England accommodations that effortlessly combine casual comfort and luxurious furnishings. The Inn features 31 unique guest rooms and 4 two-bedroom signature suites. Farm-to-table dining utilizes the finest and freshest locally sourced ingredients, and inspired amenities and resort activities are designed to create extraordinary guest experiences.
The Watch Hill Inn established in 1845, Watch Hill Inn carries with it a unique history marked by fame, natural disasters and, among all, resilience. Chic, minimalist decor intertwines with cutting edge technology like complimentary Apple TV, Netflix and an in-room iPad program that allows guests to order food and services to their door with the touch of a button. The Inn features 21 suite style accommodations with unrestricted access to dining, amenities, and resort activities at both Ocean House and Weekapaug Inn.
Scope of Position
The Audio Visual Specialist is responsible for integrating Audio Visual technology to enhance the meetings and events goals, planning, design, customer support and quality control; supporting Audio Visual projects so that they are communicated well with end users and completed successfully.

Hourly Staff Schedule Requirements
All employees are kindly asked to understand that the property operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all hourly paid team members may be asked to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. The busiest of days during the season (Memorial Day through Columbus Day) are the weekend days from Friday through Sunday and on holiday weekends that are celebrated on Mondays, this can include Mondays. All seasonal staff must be aware and able to work all weekends; requesting time off for a holiday weekend may not and will likely not be granted. The more flexible you are the more you can learn, grow, earn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in the planning and designing of all audio-visual systems for the purpose of ensuring all customer needs are addressed.
  • Collaborates with a variety of internal and external parties for the purpose of providing and/or receiving information and ensuring ongoing success.
  • Coordinates work between infrastructure, technology support, network and other
  • department teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration on all Audio Visual projects.
  • Create and maintain documentation and records of all AV systems in the inventory for the purpose of streamlining troubleshooting, team cross-training, and preventative maintenance.
  • Demonstrate basic networking knowledge for the purpose of installation and maintenance
  • of advanced AV control systems.
  • Design, advisement, and installation of all audio-visual and related equipment as
  • requested and directed by the Company for the purpose of keeping audio-visual systems relevant to current industry standards.
  • Efficiently communicates with end user regarding projects, request, and work order status
  • for the purpose of providing excellent customer service.
  • Initiate and monitor warranty procedures for all various equipment for the purpose of
  • providing the team with support through product replacement.
  • Manages daily work schedule according to business volumes and incident workload for the
  • purpose of effective time and project management.
  • Monitor and implement critical firmware updates for the purpose of proper
  • equipment functionality, security, and relativity.
  • Monitors the incoming of end-user incidents and requests for the purpose of ensuring rapid and responsible responses.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting knowledge for AV systems for the purpose of providing effective information to the Company when issues arrive.
  • Responds to a variety of questions from staff for the purpose of providing information, guidance or referral.
  • Sets and maintains appointments with district personnel for the purpose of effectively
  • providing service with minimal intrusion to classroom instruction.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains all district audio-visual systems and equipment including
  • but not limited to projectors, digital displays, classroom audio systems, large venue audio
  • (e.g. gyms and auditoriums), and other general equipment for the purpose of facilitating
  • technology in the learning environment.
  • Responsible for practicing, managing, and promoting the Company’s Statement of Purpose, Service Excellence Pillars, and Declarations so that it becomes an intricate part of the everyday operation.
  • Represent the Company with a positive attitude and professional presentation.
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to the Company’s sustainability programs.
  • Carry out any other duties which fall within the broad spirit, scope, and purpose of this job description and which are commensurate with the role.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Education, and Qualifications
  • The use pertinent and related software applications
  • Operating equipment used in the setup/testing of installing or evaluating of Audio Visual systems.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate plans, designs and other records.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication, strong project management skills and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Required to perform basic math; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, present information to others, and solve practical problems.
  • Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include working/designing knowledge of industry standard Audio Visual systems; safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to schedule a number of activities, meetings, and/or events; often gather,
  • collate, and/or classify data; and consider a variety of factors when using equipment.
  • Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using a variety of standardized methods.
  • Ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously.
  • Required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize a variety of types of job-related equipment.
  • Independent problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans.
  • Problem solving with data frequently requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is moderate to significant.

  • Ability to keep current on developing audio-visual technologies.

  • Fluency in English both verbally and in writing
