The Audio Visual Design Engineer is a highly technical individual responsible for creating and facilitating comprehensive Audio Visual Systems designs. They work closely with the customer and project management team to ensure system designs are appropriate, stable, feasible, and cost effective, all while ensuring that the customer’s vision is realized. They are considered subject matter experts in all AV matters, including but not limited to:
- Develop audioVisual Design requirements by meeting with, and discussing clients’ requirements, and working with internal design team
- Design and coordinate with architectural and engineering disciplines for Audio-Visual systems including but not limited to, boardrooms, collaboration rooms, huddle spaces, town hall venues, conference, and multipurpose rooms
- Development of 2D drawings for architectural layouts of AV equipment, and system schematic diagrams
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience with AV design, planning, and project management skills
- Advanced AutoCAD knowledge required
- Working knowledge of key audio, video, and audiovisual products from major manufacturers including Crestron Toolbox, Extron, BiAmp TesiraFORTE, Shure, Polycom, Cisco, QSC, and others
- Acts as a technical consultant to both internal and external customers to ensure the right products are specified for the correct applications
- Working knowledge of computer networks as they pertain to both IP audio and video signal transport and IP based video / audio conferencing
- Expertise with sound system acoustics regarding microphone and speaker requirements and placement
- AVIXA CTS / CTS-D certificate a plus
- Manufacturer-sponsored certifications ideal
- Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project
- Contribute to the RFP process – generate system designs, proposals, quotes for clients using D-Tools
- Education: Bachelors in Engineering is a plus or related discipline and experience. CTS or CTS-D certification a plus.
