Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is a 1.0 FTE located with the Office of Student Services.

This is a position that will support chronic absenteeism intervention across Arlington Public Schools. This is a grant-funded position through June of 2025.

All Teachers hired after January 15th are considered termed employees. This position is a termed position that is effective for FY24 through June 14, 2024 only. You would need to re-apply for a position for FY25.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implements instructional programs that meet the needs, interests and abilities of students using appropriate instructional materials.

Maintains safe and orderly environment.

Communicates with parents/guardians.

Maintains complete and accurate student records.

Collaborates with school administrators, other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and community members

Monitors and assesses student achievement.

Attends ongoing professional learning and meetings.

EXPERIENCE:

Teaching experience in the above mentioned area.

Knowledge of best instructional practices.

Ability to integrate technology..

Experience in educational and instructional leadership.

Dual endorsed preferred.

Bilingual skills preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have or be eligible for VA licensure.

Must have or be eligible for school counseling or school social worker endorsement.

Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
