Description:

Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Hudson Valley is one of 30 community colleges in the State University of New York (SUNY) system and serves nearly 9,000 students each year. The college is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training initiatives, distance learning and service to a diverse population of students. Hudson Valley has an extension center in Malta, NY known as HVCC North and sponsors the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center in Troy, NY. ATTAIN Laboratory Coordinator

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related discipline
  • One year or more experience working with adult population (teaching, advising and/or mentoring)
  • Experience with instructional computer software applications in reading, writing and math
  • Experience working with underserved/underprepared populations
  • Must be able to work independently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two or more years’ experience working with adult population (teaching, advising and/or mentoring)
  • Experience working with TANF recipients
  • Experience in community outreach
  • Microsoft certifications
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Bilingual
    SPECIAL SKILLS: Strong communication, written, organizational and presentation skills required. Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to promote professional and ethical behavior.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: May require long periods of standing and moving about computer lab. May be required on occasion to connect or remove cables under a desk. Must be able to move monitors, printers, CPUs or other light equipment and supplies on occasion.
    This is a full-time 12-month Management Confidential position with a salary range of $50,000.00-$55,000.
