Athletic Events Assistant

Starting Salary: $2,666.00
GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility of the Game Manager is to act as the designee for the Athletic Director and manage the athletic event in the absence of the School Administrator. Managing an athletic event includes but is not limited to the opening of facility, set-up of playing surface, set-up of sport-related equipment, operation of sound system and scoreboard, communication with event workers and to close the facility. The Game Manager will also communicate with game security in the event that special attention is needed for spectators, coaches, players, and officials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage Athletic Events each season; fall, winter, and spring.
Communicate with security, coaches, officials, event workers and spectators.
Communicate with the Athletic Director in the event of an emergency.
Engage in regular communication prior, during and following each event as directed by the School Administration.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Obtain signatures from officials on payment voucher.
Operate scoreboard when necessary.
Operate radio to communicate with other event personnel.
Other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license
High school diploma
Basic understanding of athletics
PHYSICAL / MENTAL / ENVIRONMENTAL
Physical Demands:
Occasional bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and grasping.
Light lifting of up to 15 pounds.
Sensory Abilities:
Visual acuity to read correspondence and computer screens.
Auditory acuity to be able to use telephone/radio.
Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
Temperament:
Ability to work as a member of a team.
Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people.
Must be cooperative, congenial, and service oriented.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Ability to be flexible.
Mental Demands:
Ability to interpret detailed written and verbal communications.
