During the course of the interview process, this position may be split into two separate positions based on the candidate pool and applicants' backgrounds.
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- Monitors and maintains an open line of communication with school administration, the Athletic Department, community, staff and athletes in reference to expectations of appropriate conduct and performance in their high school and middle school athletic programs. Conducts conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers when needed.
• Monitor and enforce University Interscholastic League policies and procedures, Dallas ISD Athletic Department policies and procedures, and student discipline (according to the Dallas ISD Student Code of Conduct) during athletic contests and practice sessions.
• Ensure that all campus coaches perform the responsibilities of their coaching assignment; dress appropriately according to dress code; and attend in-services or clinics necessary for growth of their athletic programs, supports quality education as a priority in working with all student athletes.
• Create and maintains a positive work environment on the assigned campus by supervising the use of facilities, resources and staff. Organizes and assigns duties and responsibilities equitably, among the entire coaching staff.
• Assure the compliance of all UIL eligibility requirements (including all PAPF requirements), Rank One requirements (including all medical history/physical requirements) for all student-athletes that participate in the campus athletic program, and keep all hard copies and files for each player in each sport/program. Provide all compliance information (report) in a timely manor.
• Promote and develop the culture and climate of the football program, as well as all high school athletics programs, and middle school feeder pattern program, by fostering school spirit and pride, and participating in athletic related school functions.
• Evaluate and monitor the progress of all campus athletic programs and make program suggestions and staffing recommendations when needed.
• Schedule, plan and assign supervision for all football schedules (both varsity and sub-varsity), and football off-season, and summer, programs.
• Develop and sustain a successful football program as the head Football Coach by demonstrating effective coaching, strategy and instruction as applied to the campus football program across all competition levels.
• Provide specific leadership towards the Social-Emotional development of all student-athletes as demonstrated on and off the field or court.
Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. A campus-based employee may not assume a new position for which he/she was selected based upon the posting process until the end of the current semester, unless approved by the chief officer - Human Capital Management.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required
• Master's degree from an accredited university is preferred
• 5+ years of direct experience in athletics leadership required
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in athletics leadership preferred
• Valid Texas Teacher Certificate preferred with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned is preferred
• Must have experience or a desire to work in a major metropolitan school district.
• General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures including University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules.
• Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student athletes and encourage athletes to participate in multiple sports.
• Must possess problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively to community, media, and District personnel.
