Assistant Marketing Communications Manager
Summary
The Assistant Marketing Communications Manager is a corporate storyteller for Häfele America Co. Your primary role is to create and develop content which connects and engages with our various target audiences - architects, designers, cabinet makers and millworkers and large-scale manufacturers. This may be through social media; email, website and other digital means; industry or consumer publications; proactive media outreach or other methods of audience outreach.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Create communications and public relations programs and collateral consistent with growth and sales objectives.
  • Develop engaging, creative and compelling content - copy, images, graphics, video and more - across all the company's social media channels designed to increase engagement and sales; establish and report on relevant KPIs and metrics.
  • Familiarity with Hootsuite, Buffer, Agorapulse or similar software is preferred.
  • Research, write and edit a broad array of communications, articles and releases that support thought leadership and messaging strategies.
  • Develop messaging and positioning for the marketplace including sales aids, printed brochures and catalogs, web presence and promotional events.
  • Consult on and contribute to internal/employee communications initiatives on an as needed basis.
  • Support and implement an annual communications plan in agreement with strategic initiatives.
  • Manage internal and external resources to build effective, proactive and reactive media relations programs which support and extend established brand messaging.
  • Track communication and promotion initiatives to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future promotions.
  • Identify and build a database of industry and business contacts and develop relationships with them with regular outreach.
  • Work with internal and external team members to evaluate promotional opportunities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance and proposing solutions.

Travel
Assistant Marketing Communications Managers may be required to assist in various marketing events and trade shows. Up to 20% travel is expected.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Journalism, Communications or a similar discipline with a minimum of two years' experience developing communications and public relations in a corporate or agency environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, executives and other stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures, metrics and key performance indicators for promotional and key performance indicator reporting purposes.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills
Intimate familiarity and skills in common computer programs including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet Explorer and Windows operating and file systems. Familiarity with graphic design programs such as Adobe Professional, Adobe Photoshop and Canva is also helpful.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Active memberships in PRSA, IABC or other professional communications groups are encouraged.
Work Environment
This role is mainly office based with infrequent trips to warehouses, showrooms and trade show floors.
