Job Title: Assistant Controller

Salary: $150k-$165k + 15% bonus depending on experience

Location: Remote, ideally based on West Coast, open to CST

Our client is a $200m insurance company looking for an Assistant Controller to come in and lead the month end close and accounting operations (AR, AP, Payroll). This is an M&A heavy environment, with sufficient working capital and strong cash flow from operations.

 

Must Have Experience:

• Public Accounting Experience
• Pivot Tables, Vlookups

Nice to Have Experience:

• Multi-unit
• Inter-company eliminating entries
• Insurance industry
• Experience at companies doing a lot of M&A
• Index Match in Excel

 

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full accounting cycle for the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany, payroll, operating expenses, debt, intangibles, and fixed assets.
• Manage the month end accounting close process, GL review and prepare support workbooks for income statement and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support timely preparation, distribution, and review of monthly financial statements for management.
• Perform financial statement reviews and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits.
• Ensure policies, procedures and practices are documented and maintained for the corporate accounting team as well as develop, implement, and maintain internal controls over the accounting aspect of various business processes.
• Provide strong and effective leadership to the corporate accounting team through collaboration, communication, problem-solving, innovation, execution, and results.
