Job Description
The Program in Criminal Justice within the Department of Social Sciences and College of Arts & Sciences at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) seeks a full-time Associate/Full Professor of Criminal Justice to begin Fall 2024. This is a 9-month tenure track or tenured position depending on qualifications. Primary duties will include teaching of face-to-face and online undergraduate courses, online graduate courses, and hybrid doctoral courses. Generally, faculty teach 3 courses per semester with opportunities for course releases. Duties also include serving on departmental, university, and professional committees. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold an earned doctorate in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field. While all specializations (for example, but not limited to, victimology, corrections, research methods/statistics, and administration) will be considered, candidates with expertise in courts/law, homeland security, trafficking, immigration and crime, and qualitative research methods are especially encouraged to apply. We desire candidates who: demonstrate strong research skills, have a strong record of or potential for sustained publication in peer-reviewed journals (commensurate with experience), have the potential for or prior experience with seeking and/or securing external grant funding, and have the ability to teach in areas that complement or strengthen our undergraduate and online/hybrid graduate programs.
