Associate/AVP, Portfolio Execution Group, Trader (EQ)

Portfolio Execution Group (PEG)
Portfolio Execution Group encompasses multiple teams that perform a range of functional roles including trade execution, funding & liquidity management, securities financing, and applied quantitative research. This group comprises three sub-teams - Global Trading Unit (GTU), Balance Sheet Management Group (BMG), and Applied Research Unit (ARU).
Global Trading Unit (GTU)
The Global Trading Unit (GTU) is responsible for the implementation of GIC's investment decisions across the entire public markets. GTU is one global team with desks in New York, London, and Singapore, and executes trades in equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. GTU's main goals are to provide best execution to all of GIC's portfolio managers, and to harvest & deliver differentiated market intelligence that is additive to the investment process. We are looking for a candidate with a background in EQ derivatives trading to join the GTU team in New York as a Trader that focuses on equities trading.
What will you do as a trader?

• Partner closely with GIC's portfolio managers across the globe to solution for and execute trades during the New York timezone across cash, programs, options, swaps, and futures
• Harvest and deliver differentiated market intelligence on single stocks, as well as macro themes to GIC's portfolio managers and senior management
• Work closely with colleagues from the Applied Research Unit (ARU) and Technology Group (TG) to (A) gain insights from GTU's trading data in order to continuously sharpen execution, and (B) further improve upon GTU's trading technology suite in areas such as automated trading, pre- and post-trade checks, and market surveillance
• Build and maintain strong relationships with GIC's counterparties and liquidity providers using strong interpersonal and communication skills

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• 2+ years of trading experience with a preference for EQ derivatives
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written form
• Enjoy problem-solving and has strong attention to detail
• Affinity to take intra-day and inter-day market timing risks in order to deliver strong execution outcomes
• Ability to program in Python, and passion for gaining insights from data would be a plus.

Compensation
Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally. We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results. Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role is between $112,000 and $180,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
