The Associate Systems Administrator is responsible for keeping client and server operating systems stable, handling hardware installation and troubleshooting, performing system maintenance tasks like backups and recovery, managing business application software updates according to vendor schedules, and overseeing the physical management of IT assets. Where applicable, the Associate Systems Administrator will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of workstation infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the availability and integrity of resources for employees and members to facilitate financial transactions and communications/collaboration
- Monitor systems daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
- Perform upgrades of existing client server-based business applications
- Assist with asset management for all IT assets
- Manage enterprise directory services and supporting workstation infrastructure
- Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights
- Identify and report trends impacting desktops and endpoints performance
- Update O/S images with patches and software updates
- Conference room A/V setup and maintenance
- Perform Windows vulnerability scans and application patching
- Troubleshoot hardware or software issues (networking, firewalls, VPN, etc.)
- Documenting information technology procedures and systems
- Applies basic judgment to work tasks; refers more complex issues to higher level staff
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 years experience in the Information Systems field
- Active Directory and Group Policy management
- Knowledge of standard IT Security practices
- Good project management skills, ability to handle multiple assignments and stay on schedule
- Accuracy and detail-orientation
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Able to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong member service orientation
- Must be able to work the hours of M-F 8:00am-5:30pm
- Ability to work effectively on-site in our Herndon, VA headquarters and equally effectively remotely
Preferred
- CompTIA A+ Certification and/or Certification as a Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), or comparable experience
- Proven experience with workstation planning, security principles, and general software management best practices
- Experience with VMware ESX/VSphere Virtualization Technologies
- Knowledge of standard IT Security practices
- Excellent workstation and software troubleshooting experience.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
