Associate Scientist, Antibody Discovery and Engineering
Responsible for DNA cloning, designing primers, constructing plasmid vectors for protein expression, and analyzing DNA/protein sequences. Express proteins/antibodies using mammalian/bacterial cells (milligram to gram scale). Purify and characterize proteins/antibodies; troubleshoot and design strategies to express difficult proteins; and solve protein purification challenges. Develop and execute biochemical enzymatic assays, antibody screening, and binding assays. Act as a resource and provide training to junior scientists in the lab. Contribute to company’s patent portfolio. Contribute to company’s scientific publications. Must have Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Immunology, Biology, or a related field. 1 year in molecular biology techniques with hands on expertise in DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, q-PCR, mutagenesis & assembly reactions, SDS-gel page, electrophoresis, cloning replication - pDNA techniques, western, northern, southern blotting, different cell line cultures, affinity chromatography, ELISA, microfluid liquid handling system, and thin layer chromatography. 1 year in purification techniques – direct, depth, tangential flow filtration, and protein characterization, turbidity analysis.
