The Associate Sales Engineer is a key member of the sales team providing customers and sales representatives with in-depth product knowledge during pre-sales discussions.  This position assists sales professionals and account managers in critical stages of the sales cycle, helping to drive annual booking targets.  You will be responsible for technical discovery and business process reviews, conducting demonstrations, technical requirements reviews, and specification designs.  In a post-sales environment, the AssociateSales Engineer’s role is to ensure a smooth transition of the customer project from sales to pre-implementation.

The Associate Sales Engineer Role will focus on:

Solution Demonstrations/Presentations

• Conducting detailed product demonstrations and/or presentations to prospects and customers. This role carries a large responsibility including the successful outcome of all demonstrations.
• Increasing solution win rates by delivering key messaging and proper solutioning that deliver on the desired business outcomes of the prospect/customer.

Requirements Gathering & Discovery

• Assisting in requirements gathering to include detailed discovery meetings and follow up activities.
• Translating the technical required capabilities into business outcomes that can be clearly demonstrated and understood thereby increasing product win rates.

Project Transition

• Delivering successful customer projects to pre-implementation ensuring that mission critical details are conveyed to the appropriate departments including implementation, product, and development as needed. 
• Monitoring pipeline to ensure project documentation is delivered on time and approved prior to opportunity close.

Product Specific SME

• Developing and maintaining subject matter expertise in designated focus area including core solutions and targeted integrated solutions.
• Participating in training and continuously share market knowledge with sales and product teams.

A Associate Sales Engineer will require:

• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
• 2 years in a pre-sales technical support role within a sales organization.
• General understanding of a Sales Organization operations from lead to customer
• Working knowledge of general business processes Order to Cash and Procure to Pay.
• Prior experience with ERP Systems, preferred.
• Prior experience conducting online presentations, required.
• Excellent presentation skills, strong phone and video conference skills, exceptional listening skills and above average problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills including excellent writing and presentation abilities.
• General understanding of basic integration concepts such as API, Web Services, flat file, xml, etc.
