The Associate Safety Specialist is a member of our Natural Gas Business Unit Safety Department supporting operations stakeholders and the safety management team located in Houston, TX.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect, consolidate, and analyze data using database and spreadsheet applications.
- Streamline data processes and enhance data quality.
- Assure the highest possible data quality through accurate, complete, and timely abstraction and data entry.
- Analyze data and present findings through use of graphical presentations.
- Support the development of EHS performance reports used in conjunction with Quarterly Business Reviews, Monthly Operational Management System meetings, and Board Meetings.
- Develop spreadsheets and dashboards for trending internal audit findings.
- Plan, develop, and deliver effective training to stakeholders on use of the Company’s incident management database.
- Provide support for the Company’s incident/injury reporting and tracking system, including report generation and trend reviews concerning workplace injuries/illnesses, vehicle accidents, and other undesired occurrences.
- Serve as a support member of the Natural Gas Business Unit Incident Review Committee.
- In support of continuous improvement efforts, identify and act on opportunities to improve EH&S processes and systems.
Position Requirements
Education
- Degree from an accredited university.
- Safety, Environmental, or Industrial Hygiene degree preferred.
Experience/Specific Knowledge
- Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and Outlook.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
- Must possess a valid driver's license and meet Company insurability requirements.
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective, tactful, and positive communication with all levels of field and management personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Moderate to high proficiency with personal computers and working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Teams, Word, Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint as well as other Company software.
- Possess the ability to work as a team member with a focus on detail and meeting deadlines.
Physical Demands
- Able to sit for extended periods in an office environment.
Working Conditions
- This position is eligible to work a hybrid and alternate work schedule (9/80).
