Job Description
Purpose:
Full-time, tenure-track, associate professor position in the School of Education, with coordinator responsibilities of oversight and fidelity of the Master of Education in School Administration and Supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
- Half time class loading of two graduate level courses within the MEd. in School Administration per semester with half time release to oversee, manage, and recruit both adjunct faculty and students to the program.
- Oversight and management of the MEd. In School Administration and Supervision will include, but is not limited to, updating curriculum to meet the current state requirements.
- Redevelop courses for online/remote delivery, scheduling class offerings, seeking qualified and talented adjunct instructors.
- Maintaining oversight of instructors to ensure quality and fidelity of curriculum, market and promote program to potential graduate students, and advise and enroll students until program completion.
- Record and maintain necessary data for assessment and accreditation purposes.
- Class loading will require two classes per semester, or 12 hours over the academic year.
- Service to University will include, but not limited to, serving on University, College, and Department committees as appropriate and feasible.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend University, College, Department, and Faculty Senate meetings as appropriate and feasible.
- Complete projects as assigned by Department Chair, Dean of Professional Studies, and/or Provost.
- Scholarship, research, publications, and/or grant writing will be necessary for tenure-track positions.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Personal Characteristics:
- Required: Knowledge of Missouri Teaching Standards, Missouri Professors of Educational Administration (MPEA) Standards, and the Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS). Ability to work virtually and mentor students with a diverse range of experience. Effective communication to students, partner schools, external stakeholders, and University personnel. Ability to create and deliver high quality online/remote courses for student success.
- Preferred: Knowledge on Missouri Educator Evaluation System scoring (MEES), knowledge of and the ability to align national and state standards to courses and assignments. Experience with education program accreditation at the state and/or national level. Experience with higher education, teaching and working with adult learners, familiarity and experience with online learning, development, and delivery. Experience with program development and implementation.
- Desired: Knowledge and experience with Quality Matters Standards.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Required: A Doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in a field of Education/Special Education. Minimum of 3 years of teaching at public K-12 school level and at least 5 years of School Administration experience (within the past 8 years).
Physical Demands:
On campus - routine classroom/office physical requirements. Remote work possible.
