Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina, College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a qualified candidate eligible for the rank of Associate Professor to fill a 30% role as Research and Scholarship Practice Partnerships Liaison and 70% role as faculty. The faculty member would provide didactic and clinical instruction for undergraduate and graduate nursing courses. In addition to teaching, the position includes opportunities for clinical practice and research/scholarship activities. Faculty appointment and salary are commensurate with the level of clinical practice, teaching, and scholarship experience of the candidate. Experience with the application of innovative classroom delivery, simulation methodologies and evidence based integration is ideal. The candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to the professional development of nursing students, clinical practice, and professional service.
Research and Scholarship Practice Partnerships Liaison
- Serve as CON representative on research councils for major practice partners (Prisma Health, Lexington Medical Center[LMC]); Add Veteran's Administration[VA] and Medical University of South Carolina[MUSC] over time.
- Serve as a research liaison between practice partners and CON.
- Facilitate collaborative partnerships and between CON and practice partners, especially that lead to external funding.
- Serve on CON/Prisma DNP Task Group (to facilitate DNP projects in Prisma Health system); assess opportunities at LMC , VA, MUSC.
- Submit grants from the CON as Principal Investigator to support clinical research in practice settings.
- Serve on CON Research and Scholarship Council and provide partnership updates to faculty.
Required Education and Experience
Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP), two years of teaching and mentoring of BSN and MSN students preferred; unencumbered nursing licensure; Excellent written and oral communication skills, team building, self-motivation, and innovation in educational program offerings are expected. Basic Life Support (BLS) documentation is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of teaching and mentoring of BSN and MSN students preferred.
