Your Impact
- Apply engineering design techniques under supervision of an experienced engineer
- Design and model plumbing systems in Revit MEP.
- Conduct field audits of existing installations and participate in system start-up and commissioning
- Develop planning, scheduling, and coordinating detailed phase of engineering work
- Size and select plumbing equipment and prepare technical specifications
- Ability to develop and read riser diagrams and schematics
- Answer project specific RFI and submittals timely
- Interpret building code requirements
- Prepare proposal documents, specifications, and reports
- Coordinate and communicate with multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners
- Propose creative solutions to complex problems as part of a team
- Review vendor information to assure compliance with specifications
- Attend coordination meetings with owners, architects and other consultants.
- Coordinate details and miscellaneous design criteria with other disciplines
- Coordinate and prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents
- Incorporate sustainable design methods in buildings and prepare green rating system documentation
- Assist in spatial coordination with architecture and other engineering systems
- Deliver projects across multiple delivery models, including design/bid/build, design assist, design build
- Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior plumbing and mechanical design experience.
- Highly skilled in ability to use Revit 20 (or later)
- Ability to utilize innovative analytical techniques in solving technical problems
- Attention to detail and highly organized
- Experience in designing plumbing systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to contribute and interact well with others on a team
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- Engineer in Training Certification.
