Associate Physician (1099 Independent Contractor) - Hospice and Palliative Care
Job Summary:
The Associate Physician, specializing in Hospice and Palliative Care, will provide essential medical services to support patients facing serious illnesses, focusing on symptom management, pain control, and improving the quality of life. This position is designed for physicians who prefer Independent Contractor status and are dedicated to delivering compassionate end-of-life care.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Washington State medical license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Hospice and Palliative Care team.
- Previous experience in Hospice and Palliative Care settings is strongly preferred.
- Profound understanding of the principles and practices of compassionate end-of-life care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certification in Hospice and Palliative medicine or related specialty.
- Understanding of the principles and practices of compassionate end-of-life care.
Contractual Details:
- This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.
- The contractor is responsible for their own taxes and other legal obligations.
- Work schedule and hours may vary based on patient needs and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with advanced and life-limiting illnesses.
2. Develop and implement personalized Palliative Care plans, including symptom management, pain control, and psychological support.
3. Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary Hospice and Palliative Care team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains, and therapists.
4. Offer medical consultations and evaluations to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and goals of care.
5. Regularly review and update patient medical records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation.
6. Participate in patient case conferences and care planning to optimize the quality of care provided.
7. Provide guidance and expertise in end-of-life care, including discussions on advanced care planning and goals of care.
8. Stay current with the latest developments in palliative medicine and participate in continuing medical education.
9. Embrace a patient-centered approach, demonstrating empathy and respect for patients' preferences and values.
10. Serve as a medical resource for colleagues and staff, offering medical expertise and guidance.
11. Uphold high standards of confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions.

Compensation:
Mileage Reimbursement: $0.655 per mile
Flat rate per day for on call (24-hour period): $400 (flat rate)
Holiday on call (24-hour period): $500 flat rate)
Patient Visit: $100 (flat rate per patient visit)
Patient Face to Face: $50.00 (flat rate per face to face visit)
