WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
This is an entry level role with 0-5 years work experience required. We are looking for someone with an interest in data analytics and grocery retail who wants a growth opportunity. This role requires on site work in Dublin, CA and/or Modesto, CA. Candidates must we willing to commute daily to either of those two locations.
This roleserves as a key part of the client team, working with senior leaders andcategory managers for a major grocery retailer. Critical for success inthis role is the ability to manage and utilize customer data to generate benefitand value. You will use our proprietary tools as well as the data and models youand the team build to bring a customer centric perspective to support clientdecision-making, such as customer behavior, promotions, advertising, vendornegotiations, and assortments.In thisrole, you will also build skills in personalized marketing - e.g., learning howto target specific customer groups with personalized campaigns, and how toleverage our proprietary CRM tools. Last, you will serve as a client-facingthought partner to key clients and other insight consultants. We gauge successbased on actionable insights that result in measurable business value, thus theability to translate diagnostic analytics into prescriptive insight is vital tothe success of the role.

KEY ACTIVITIES
- Support client objectives to improve their overall business by driving customer loyalty and incremental sales
- Engage with members of the consulting team and clients to identify business problems that require customer analytics
- Support ongoing decision making related to promotions, advertising, vendor negotiations and assortments
- Partner with internal and external CPG focused groups on key initiatives
- Train clients on use of Symphony RetailAI tools and insights
- Develop data-driven Insights and present actionable recommendations
- Utilize BI tools including Symphony tools and reports to help answer retailer business questions
- Coach client teams in applying insight and recommendations created from the strategic insights team for their specific market and/or area of responsibility
WHAT WILL YOU BRING?
- 1-3 experience operating in a retail environment through retailer, manufacturer, broker or similar affiliation
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, and/or Data Management or Data Science related degree or certification
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in leveraging data and analytics for decision making
- Highly proficient at conducting analyses in Excel and building presentations in PowerPoint
- Persuasive and clear oral and written communication skills
- Self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic work environment, independently and with groups, to achieve optimal performance
- Experience working with customer centric data / loyalty data
- Experience utilizing CRM tools
- Prior experience in the food retailing industry or working for a CPG
