Associate Legal Counsel (F/M/D)

In less than 10 years, LeanIX has grown from a start-up to a truly global company, already recognized as a market leader in the Enterprise Architecture SaaS sector, and is poised to continue its expansion. To support our growth, we are looking for an Associate Legal Counsel for our US team, to be based in our office in Watertown (with flexibility to work remotely) and reporting directly into the Head of Legal.

The Associate Legal Counsel will primarily be involved in the negotiation of a wide range of agreements with customers, while at the same time safeguarding LeanIX's interests and reputation by ensuring that the company adheres to legal guidelines. Additionally, the Associate Legal Counsel will be exposed to all areas of the business as both LeanIX and the Legal Department continue to scale. This position will work cross-functionally across the global organization, providing guidance and advice to multiple stakeholders in fields such as privacy, compliance, data protection and corporate.

WHAT IS WAITING FOR YOU?

• Negotiate a wide variety of agreements, including SaaS subscription service agreements, professional services agreements, data processing agreements, NDAs
• Provide sound advice and guidance on legal issues to the business organization
• Help build and improve template agreements, processes, policies and playbooks
• Support on corporate matters such as the setup of new legal entities or corporate aspects of existing legal entities
• Support on regulatory and compliance matters

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• J.D. degree and membership in at least one US state bar
• 2+ years of post-graduation working experience in the IT/ software/SaaS sector, either in a law firm or in-house (experience in a multi-national company a plus)
• Working experience in transactions and contract law. Working experience in corporate housekeeping is a plus, though not required
• An understanding and interest in topics such as privacy, data protection, IP
• A start-up mentality; a willingness to get involved, think creatively, prioritize effectively and get the job done
• Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese in addition to English is a plus
