Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an Associate IT Programmer Developer Analyst to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).

The Associate Java IT Programmer Analyst analyzes, evaluates, modifies, configures, and tests applications using Java, JSP, and other web technologies. The aid in the implementation of enterprise-wide purchased systems (e.g. Costpoint, SAP, PeopleSoft, etc.). Prepares application system specifications. Plans, implements, and coordinates system upgrades, enhancements and/or maintenance to support a wide range of business systems in organization.

• Assists in research, design, development, and/or modification of systems and/or Java applications software.
• Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards.
• Evaluates interface(s) between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of overall systems.
• Develops flow charts and diagrams outlining process steps in operation; develops and revises Java program code.
• Prepares documentation of program development, modifications to code and operating instructions.
• Conducts program tests and may be required to analyze system capabilities to resolve input/output problems.
• Documents testing and maintenance of system corrections.
• Provides patches and upgrades to existing systems.
• Assists in the design of web based, mobile technology, cloud, and security interface to meet the specific needs of users.
• May build add-on modules using application program language.
• May have vendor management responsibility.
• Work is performed with direction and exercises some latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
• Assists in the successful completion of projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related degree

OR

• High School Diploma/GET and relevant work experience within the IT (information technology) field performing software development and programming as defined in the job description.

* This position may be eligible for up to 100% full time telework in accordance with the SRMC Telework Policy.
