Posting Summary:
The Office of Human Resources at Teachers College, Columbia University is seeking an Associate HRIS Data and Reporting Analyst who will assist with the data, reporting, and analytics and support the continuous improvement of the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) Team.

Job Summary/Basic Function:
Reporting to the Senior HRIS Data and Reporting Analyst, the Associate HRIS Data and Reporting Analyst will assist with satisfying the data, reporting and analytics needs of the Office of Human Resources and other stakeholders. The incumbent will assist with analyzing, designing, building, testing, delivering and maintaining reports, analytical dashboards and other data extracts requested. The Analyst will also ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory reporting requirements.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Compliance Reporting and Data Analytics

  • Manage and fulfill regulatory and compliance reporting requirements
  • Manage and fulfill data requests from the TCHR team and internal clients
  • Assist in key reporting initiatives and analytics projects required by TCHR or College leadership
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete HR data
  • Collaborate with the HR Services team to understand Reporting requirements and translate them into meaningful reports
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and metrics to support key stakeholders
  • Research and troubleshoot data issues to ensure data quality
  • Other ad-hoc reporting as needed to support the team

Data Audits and Process Improvement

  • Audit and reconcile data inconsistencies
  • Assist in maintaining data integrity through automated data audits
  • Assist with process improvements by providing innovative solutions
  • Conduct regular analysis of HR metrics to identify trends, insights, and areas for improvement

System Maintenance/Training & Support

  • Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation
  • Assist in testing HRMS system upgrades or patches
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolving systems issues
  • Provide support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and offer solutions related to HRIS Data and Reporting.
  • Assist with maintaining integrity and accuracy of data in Banner and other related-HR systems
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in training or work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis preferably in an HR setting
  • Understanding of HR processes and some proficiency in HRIS systems and HR analytics tools
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office with strong proficiency in Excel skills; Google applications a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to understand complexities and nuances with reporting using different data sources and sharing the reports with different security groups
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain Data and findings to a non-technical audience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments/projects and timelines
  • Previous exposure to project-related activities through active participation in system-related projects
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Banner HR
  • Exposure to Oracle databases and Oracle SQL query
  • Experience working in various analytical and Reporting tools - Argos, Tableau, Power BI
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Understanding of HR analytics and workforce planning

Salary Range:

$64k- $68K
