Gaia Equity was founded by Deepak Krishnamurthy who serves as the Managing Partner for the firm. Before Gaia, Deepak was at SAP for over a decade, where he led Strategy and Transformation for the company. At SAP, he architected the company's cloud transformation and M&A strategy that resulted in a 3X increase in top line, a 4X increase in market cap, and an incremental $100 billion in shareholder value. In addition to serving as SAP's Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for nearly 7 years, he led its early stage venture fund (SAP.iO), its customer & market insights function, its fintech business (AribaPay), and its healthcare business (SAP Health). He also led several of SAP's social impact programs including SAP.iO No Boundaries, an inclusive entrepreneurship initiative focused on investing in minority and women founders.
Role Description
Gaia Equity is launching a new fund to acquire an enterprises software company and invest in its growth. The fund will focus on supporting the management team of the acquired company in their growth agenda by infusing capital to generate significant returns.
You will work alongside the Managing Partner in setting up of the fund, defining the fund structure, and helping in fund raising. Based on a thematic approach, you will research and identify potential SaaS/Software companies for acquisition by Gaia Equity. Once a shortlist of targets is identified, you will assist in driving the diligence including financial, product, and customer analyses.
Requirements and Qualifications:
The candidate will be a self-starter who can work in a dynamic environment and demonstrate problem-solving leadership. Other qualifications / requirements include:
MBA with a background in Corporate Finance or Enterprise Software
Ability to work creatively both in a collaborative and an independent model
Strong Excel modeling skills especially in building valuation models
Proficient PowerPoint skills to prepare presentations to Limited Partners (LPs)
Prior experience in Strategy Consulting / Investment Banking / Venture Capital / Private Equity desired
