Job Description

The USMA Associate Director of Scientific Collaboration reports directly to the USMA Scientific Collaboration, Sr Director and will serve as a point of contact for US Medical Affairs engagement with US external societies and medical scientific organization, a cross functional partner across virology, and a subject matter expert in HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and COVID.
Essential Duties and Job Functions
  • Assists with coordination of external societies and scientific/medical organizations.
  • Manages key initiatives and collaborations with external societal and scientific educational organizations, CME and non-profit related.
  • Works cross functionally within US Affiliate teams (USMA, Commercial, Legal and Medical Governance, Public Affairs and Government Affairs) and on initiatives related to key external engagements, projects, and working groups.
  • Helps develop novel medical educational tools and medical symposiums for conferences based on virology strategies.
  • Exhibits Gilead’s core values: integrity, teamwork, accountability, excellence, and inclusion in accordance with the highest ethical and compliance standards, including Gilead’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • MD, PhD, PharmD, NP or PA or other advanced health care degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience in HIV, viral hepatitis, or related clinical field required.
  • 2+ years industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, positive relationships with external scientific and medical organizations and extensive experience in cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrate ability to contribute to strategy and translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in plain language documents.
  • Excellent strategic and organizational skills to support project management/planning across multiple activities at conferences and within community engagement events.
  • Ability to anticipate and prioritize workload on multiple ongoing projects.

The salary range for this position is: $173,910.00 - $225,060.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
