Eli Lilly and Company seeks an Associate Director, Parenteral Engineering to staff, train, and lead the Parenteral engineering group (both process and automation); support asset delivery, process development, commissioning, qualification, validation and startup of the Parenteral area as well as other engineering automation systems; support day-to-day engineering activities as well as planning for the 3 - 6-month horizon; lead by example and provide coaching to others in the areas of safety, quality, engineering, and continuous improvement; support Site Leadership to build a diverse and capable site organization based in engineering first principles; deliver the Parenteral scope and support systems through user requirements, design, build, commissioning, qualification, validation, and subsequent operation; provide leadership and develop objectives to deliver Business Plan Goals as it relates to safety, quality, and equipment/process effectiveness and efficiency; maintain metrics to measure performance against business objectives and make necessary changes to improve performance; participate in the development and implementation of strategies associated with the area sponsoring or supporting the following initiatives: Continuous Improvement, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA); direct interaction with Regulatory Agencies during site inspections; understand and influence the manufacturing control strategy for their area; represent staff on the Plant Flow Team and responsible for a professional staff of approximately 15 individuals supporting both process engineering and automation. #LI-DNI
Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field, and 7 years' experience in automation or engineering. Must have the following work experience: experience with parenteral manufacturing equipment; experience with equipment design for sterile processing; experience with start-ups equipment install, verification, and qualification; leading, managing, and training engineers with diverse backgrounds; and experience with support systems design, installation and operation for sterile processes. International and domestic travel 1-2 weeks on a quarterly basis required. Telecommuting permitted 2-4 days per month.
