Leadership:
- Directly supervises Residence Life Coordinators, graduate assistants, and office assistants.Indirectly supervises Resident Assistants and student workers.
- Plans programs that promote community and student development.Responds to academic, social, behavioral, and psychological concerns occurring in the area.Works on strategic planning for the area.Supports the students, liaisons/mentors, RAs, RLCs and campus partners involved with each Residential Learning Community.
- Responsible for risk management and crisis response to include, but not limited to sexual misconduct, drug/alcohol emergencies, suicidal students (thought and active attempts), and situations involving physical violence, hate/bias, and much more.This position serves in an on-call rotation providing second level support to our live-in staff members.
- Serve as a chair to a departmental committee; and contributes to the division and university on various projects and committees.Conceptualize, develop, coordinate, and execute a work in service of Housing & Residence Life’s core values.
- Serve on task forces within HRL to further the work and projects outlined by the strategic plan, CAS standards, Equity Tank, and departmental goal.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Master’s degreeThree years of experience in Residence Life, program development, advising student groups, housing administration, and working with diverse students and staff. Thorough knowledge of student development theory and its application to comprehensive living and learning residential environments; a demonstrated commitment and sensitivity to working with students, faculty, and staff to build a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural community which facilitates positive outcomes; and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
