Position Information:
Woodcraft Rangers is seeking a dynamic and innovative Older YouthAssociate Director to lead and oversee Middle and High School programs. They will play a vital role in shaping age-appropriate curricula, designing innovative programs, increasing participation through targeted campaigns, and fostering partnership to bring enriching experiences to Older Youth. The Associate Director supervises Program Managers overseeing Expanded Learning programs & intercessional programs, creates evaluation and assessment to ensure programming is dynamic and responsive to student needs and interests and engages community stakeholders, including parents, to garner meaningful and broad-based support of the program.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversees School partnerships and Regional programs to include curating and managing the annual budget and strategic planning/ program/ activities, registration goals, camp structure and curriculum, data management of policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to design, adapt, and implement age-appropriate curricula that align with the developmental needs and interests of middle and high school students.
- Ensures that curricula content is engaging, educational, and relevant to the target age group, promoting holistic growth and skill development.
- Develop and execute strategic campaigns to increase participation and engagement of Older Youth in Woodcraft Rangers programs.
- Identify and create campaigns, challenges, or initiatives that empower Older Youth to take on leadership roles, drive positive change, and contribute to the community.
- Research, establish, and nurture partnerships with local organizations, educational institutions, and community leaders to enhance the range of quality programs offered to Older Youth.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness and impact of programs and alter youth participants.
- use data-driven insights to refine and improve program elements ensuring continuous growth and positive outcomes.
- Devise program plans and associated budgets that reflect the dynamic needs of each summer day camp program.
- Ensure programs meet contractual and organizational goals and expectations, including fiscal and programmatic compliance.
- Provide periodic program updates (i.e. photos, stories, etc.) to school or district leadership to maintain engagement.
- Devise and program design and implementation for Early Ed, specifically enhancing TK-K program offerings.
- Liaise with the Learning Department to develop and implement staff training and provide necessary support for staff to be successful.
- Collaborate with development and communications staff to provide supportive narrative that illustrates impact and helps to tell the organization’s story to funders and other supporters.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly.

Qualifications / Requirements:
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to inspire staff to manage and develop high-performance teams and develop and implement program strategies. Self- motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve work goals.
- Track record of effectively leading a youth program with the ability to leverage strengths across program areas, excellent project management skills.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to program management.
- Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
- Ability to initiate and build relationships with key stakeholders and program partners and interact via telephone and in person with institutional representatives.
- Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Woodcraft Rangers will require proof of vaccination for ALL employees providing any in- person work with staff or clients.
Education & Experience:
A bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of program experience at supervisor level in similar role, 3+ years of management experience OR any appropriate combination of education and experience.
