Job description

The Associate Director of Financial Coachingand Training will recruit, train and provide ongoing support to the financial coaches, and facilitators who are responsible for delivering high-quality, culturally proficient financial education and coaching to low-to-moderate income households. The Associate Director will also advance the Financial Hope Collaborative's (FHC's) strategic growth goals through organizational leadership and development; management and support of Financial coach and facilitator consultants; and implement best practices in training and resources. A primary focus of this role is assuring FHC's programming is making a measurable impact. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1) Coach and facilitator onboarding, relationship-building, training, and engagement of coaches; 2) Supervising and evaluating performance of the 65 coaches and 6 facilitators; 3) Developing and implementing coach and facilitator training programs, and repository of reference resources; 4) Analyzing and reporting data from the monthly coaching reports to ensure implementation occurs with fidelity to the FSP's theory of change. The Associate Director will work in partnership with the FHC team to ensure end-to-end quality program delivery and continuous improvement. This is a grant-funded position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage, onboard, and train financial coaches and facilitators/trainers who are consultants with the Financial Hope Collaborative. This includes recruitment planning in partnership with FHC staff, and a structured screening and onboarding process for financial coaches and facilitators. Develop and implement consistent proficiency standards aligned with best practices in the field to assess coach and facilitator readiness and program fit and prepare them for success. Oversee the contracting process. Conduct orientation and Training sessions and facilitate quarterly coaches meetings
  • Manage performance of Financial coaches and facilitators. Develop and implement evaluation plans including observation of Coaching and facilitation sessions, review of client feedback, and review of coaching reports, class evaluations, and other data to monitor client progress toward financial security outcomes. Develop and implement proficiency standards to assess coach and facilitator readiness in core financial services and in specialized content areas. Provide performance-related feedback to financial coaches and facilitators.
  • Develop / continuously improve coach and facilitator training curricula, materials, and resources; including tools, templates, quick reference guides, resources, short training videos explaining key concepts, and Q&A to address common questions and concerns.
  • Foster a coaching community of practice through engagement with coaches and facilitators. Provide technical support to financial coaches and facilitators on personal finance topics, including consultation as needed for individual clients. Create regular opportunities for ongoing learning and professional development for financial coaches and facilitators.
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with community organizations to further strengthen FHC's Coaching and Training programming.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in evaluating program and organizational outcomes. Develop and review performance metrics and dashboards in partnership with FHC staff and identify themes and opportunities for improvement

Qualifications
  • B.A. in management, organization leadership or other related field is required.
  • Management experience, track record of working with diverse and marginalized populations, and experience delivering community-focused education to adult learners. 
  • Minimum of 7-10 years experience in Financial Coaching, community involvement, cross-sector collaboration, and financial and administrative leadership experience with a track record of increased responsibilities and impact. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of nonprofit experience is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Cultural humility, track record of working with diverse and marginalized populations, and emotional intelligence. Solid working knowledge of outcomes reporting for funders. Ability to think strategically, lead change, creatively problem solve, and exercise good judgment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups.
