Associate Director - Forecasting
POSITION SUMMARY
The Associate Director Forecasting will have primary responsibility to oversee the long-term and short-term forecasting efforts at Cymabay, for its liver drug called Seladelpar. This individual will oversee the development of long-term forecast and short-term forecast, partner across functions (e. g. commercial, new product planning, operations, leadership teams) to ensure alignment with assumptions and methodology.
This is a hybrid role - our work from home days are Monday and Friday and our in-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive strategic alignment across a variety of key stakeholders - including Brand Marketing leads, New Product Planning, Commercial Operations, Finance, Manufacturing, and Executive leadership
Build, manage complex epidemiology patient-based models across rare disease areas
Drive semi-annual/as needed updates to the long-term forecast by gathering inputs and assumptions from cross-functional representatives identifying optimal forecasting methodologies, and building the models
Provide forecasting support for other business development, life cycle management and other areas as needed.
Analyze primary research data and secondary data sources (claims, epidemiology etc.) to glean insights and understand implications for the forecast
Identify and manage external vendor partners to deliver key forecasting activities
Develop forecast scenario analyses including key risks and opportunities to clearly characterize forecast uncertainties and key drivers
Lead and establish the short-term forecasting process in 2024 and build a short-term forecasting process to support the launch of Seladelpar.
Develop and track key performance metrics to track and manage the launch of Seladelpar
Establish the Analytics capabilities to support the launch of Seladelpar using primary and secondary data sources
Track forecast accuracy and drive continuous improvements in forecast models and the forecasting process
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 5 - 7 years of relevant commercial analytical, forecasting or finance experience within the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry
Experience in long-term/strategic forecasting preferred, with significant experience in epidemiology models (patient based)
Highly skilled in to work collaboratively in team-based environment and gain alignment across an organization
Knowledge and experience working with industry internal and secondary data sources; experience doing analog and uptake curve analysis
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Strong oral, written and presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Daily demonstrates a positive, 'can do' attitude in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly while working under tight deadlines.
Skilled in developing collaborative internal and external relationships.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Education
Bachelor of Science/ Bachelor of Arts
MBA or advanced degree preferred

The anticipated salary range for this role is $170,000 - $195,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. CymaBay is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
