Overview:
Kirkhof College of Nursing is seeking a leader to serve as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs in Nursing. This critical role encompasses the comprehensive management of the undergraduate nursing programs, with a focus on fostering academic excellence, innovation, and integrity across all facets of the student and faculty experience.
Primary Duties:
  • Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management of the undergraduate nursing programs, including oversight of faculty and student affairs, program coordination, and evaluation.
  • Strategic Planning: Engage in strategic planning activities that support the educational missions of the College of Nursing, including resource development and management.
  • Program Development: Direct the development of future goals and initiatives for Undergraduate nursing education that align with the college's practice/service and scholarship missions.
  • Accreditation and Compliance: Act as a contributing author on self-study accreditation reports, substantive program change requests, and surveys to accrediting/governing agencies, ensuring compliance and excellence in nursing education.
  • Teaching and Scholarship: Foster an environment of academic excellence through an established minimum requirement of teaching and by establishing/maintaining personal scholarship as evidenced through scholarly disseminations and activities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate in nursing or a related discipline (if doctorate is not in nursing, must have earned master’s degree in nursing).
  • Previous experience in delivering nursing education in the academic and/or practice settings.
  • Record of professional, community, and/or university service.
  • Record of scholarly productivity.
  • Experience in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Strong leadership and organizational development abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Previous academic leadership/administrative experience desirable.
  • Must be eligible for or have proof of unencumbered registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Michigan.
