This is a full-time, twelve-month position. Review of application materials will begin in mid-March 2024 and continue until the position is filled. We anticipate a summer 2024 start date. Competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience.
The Graduate School of the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences at Boston College invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean for Graduate Academic Affairs. Boston College is a Jesuit, Catholic university that strives to integrate research excellence with a foundational commitment to formative liberal arts education. The Graduate School of the Morrissey College offers the Ph.D. and the Master’s degree in more than a dozen disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.
The Associate Dean is responsible for the academic administration of the Graduate School and reports directly to the Dean of the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. Working closely with the Dean, department Chairs, and Graduate Program Directors, the Associate Dean for Graduate Academic Affairs will articulate and implement a shared strategic vision for graduate education at Boston College, strengthening its distinctive identity and enhancing opportunities for all graduate programs across the College.
Responsibilities:
- Implement Graduate School policies and procedures
- Chair the Graduate Educational Policy Committee (new program development)
- Serve as a resource for Morrissey College departments on the administration of graduate programs and policies, including creative problem solving around issues as they present themselves to students and programs
- Coordinate all Graduate School programs and awards
- Advise graduate students regarding academic policies
- Represent the Graduate School internally and externally
- Maintain all data and preparing reports for internal and external constituencies
- Manage all Graduate School institutional financial aid programs and budgets
