ASSOCIATE CYBER SECURITY ANALYST

This position is based in our ArchKey/Sachs Electric office in Fenton, MO

About the position

Responsible for assisting in safeguarding the Company's digital assets and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of all systems and data. This position monitors computer networks for security issues, investigates cybersecurity incidents, and installs security measures and operating software to protect systems and IT infrastructure, in alignment with all Company policies, procedures, values, key objectives and regulations.


Day in the life

  • Monitors security alerts and events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. Responds promptly to security incidents and conducts initial investigations. Collaborates with IT team members to develop and implement incident response plans.
  • Assists in scanning and assessing systems for vulnerabilities. Works with IT team members to prioritize and remediate identified vulnerabilities. Assists in documenting detection so future security incidents can be efficiently mitigated. Contributes to the development of strategies for mitigation of future vulnerabilities.
  • Participates in the development and delivery of security awareness training for employees. Assists in promoting a security-conscious culture within the organization.
  • Gains proficiency in using security tools such as intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus solutions, and SIEM platforms. Assists in the maintencnace and configuration of security technologies.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of security procedures and configurations. Generates regular reports on security metrics and incidents for management.
  • Collaborates with other IT and business unit team members to enhance overall security posture. Communicates effectively with stakeholders on security-related matters.
  • Creates and maintains positive customer, vendor, and community relationships. Collaborates with internal and external personnel to create and implement continuous improvement solutions, systems and logistics as needed.
  • Consistently makes decisions in an attentive and safe manner to ensure the safety and health of self and others.
  • Utilizes LEAN concepts or other continuous improvement methodologies to ensure the most efficient operations, processes, and activities.
  • Promotes and models the Company mission, vision and values through exercising sound and ethical business practices, championing all elements of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and providing high quality services and programs as they relate to clients, subcontractors, co-workers, suppliers, and the public.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job operates in a professional office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers, tablets, and smartphones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities of close vision, distance, color, and ability to adjust focus are required.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in CYBER SECURITY, computer science, information technology, computer services or a related field.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of information security, CYBER SECURITY, or similar work experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, SSCP) preferred.
  • Experience and familiarity with common security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). Understanding of cloud security principles preferred.
  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and security principles. Knowledge of security technologies and tools. Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies preferred. Basic scripting or programming skills preferred.
  • Basic project management training, experience, and skills. Thorough understanding of the project life cycle.
  • Strong initiative, prioritization, and the ability to communicate and interact successfully with employees and to develop and maintain positive professional relationships with colleagues. Strong service orientation.
  • Strong analytical and independent problem-solving skills. Ability to capture and communicate the context of a situation, delve into, and achieve an understanding of a problem or request, and offer the most appropriate viable solutions and recommendations.
  • Strong listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a focus in technical or instruction-oriented writing and in clearly communicating complicated concepts over the phone, in person, and in writing.
  • Strong professional, customer-focused team player, with effective collaboration, organizational, and time management skills and high detail orientation. Demonstrated prominent level of integrity and dependability.
  • Basic knowledge of LEAN methodologies and applications. Strong process orientation.
