The Associate Chaplain provides professional and competent spiritual care for the ministry, and is responsible for serving the spiritual, religious, and emotional needs of care to recipients and caregivers in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. As a member of the healthcare team, is directly responsible for the implementation of the mission, values, polices, and procedures of the facility in which they serve.

Required qualifications:
- Coursework/Training: 2 Units—Accredited or approved by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), by programs that were accredited by the former United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Commission on Certification and Accreditation (USCCB/CCA), or the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS). Equivalency for one unit of CPE (two units in CASC) may be considered.
- Coursework/Training: Graduate studies 32-48 credit hours in Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or the equivalent applicable education from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor's Degree Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or related field.
- Within 3 years of hire National Chaplain Certification
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's Degree Theology, Divinity, Spirituality, Pastoral Ministry, or the equivalent applicable education from an accredited institution.
- 1 year ministry in a medical setting

About the Team
Providence Physician Enterprise (PE) is a service line within Providence serving patients across seven states with quality, compassionate, coordinated care. Collectively, our medical groups and affiliate practices are the third largest group in the country with over 11,000 providers, 900 clinics and 30,000 caregivers.
