Position Summary
The Associate Athletic Director for Revenue & Special Projects is responsible for oversight of assigned areas, including: Denver Sports Properties (Playfly), ticket office sales and customer service staff (Aspire), concessions, parking, licensing and media rights. The Associate AD will be a driver of revenue generation within the Division of Athletics. The position will attract and retain external events that are hosted in the Ritchie Center. The position will serve as a strategic cornerstone in the success of the Division of Athletics.
Essential Functions
  • Oversee assigned revenue areas, including, but not limited to: Denver Sports Properties (Playfly), the ticket office sales and service staff (Aspire), concessions, parking, licensing, media rights, etc
  • Manage the Denver Sport Properties, ticket office and technology budgets, including assisting in budget modeling and forecasting processes in conjunction with Sr. Associate AD for External Affairs
  • Attract and retain revenue producing external events
  • Accountable for the progressive strategies and goals and objectives of the Department's key external areas; marketing and promotions, branding, ticket sales, and media rights all in an effort to maximize Departmental revenue streams
  • Provide integral direction and leadership of marketing, promotions and creative teams to generate strategic sales and media campaigns to meet revenue goals and initiatives
  • At the direction of the Sr. Associate AD for External, manage the fan experience at all venues and oversee the Division of Athletics and Recreations communications including public relations, sports information, social media and website

  • Revenue generation experience
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years' of progressively responsible collegiate athletic administration in revenue generation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
Working Environment
  • Standard office environment.
  • Noise and stress level is moderate to high and fluctuates through the season.
  • Possible Outdoor work in all types of weather.
Physical Activities
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Some manual labor is required.
  • Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Some evenings and weekends during Varsity Athletic seasons.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 12.
Salary Range:
The salary range for the position is $80,000-$90,000.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.
