LOCATION

This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Louisville, Colorado office.

POSITION SUMMARY

This role involves collaborating on current research projects and supporting development of new concepts and approaches for future investigations. The physicist will work closely with a team consisting of fellow physicists, engineers, and technicians.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Integration of complex opto-mechanical systems, electronics, and software
  • Perform technical tasks needed for the success of the project from equipment setup to system demonstration
  • Identify materials and components to meet project requirements
  • Document project progress, identify, track, and resolve any project issues
  • Run experiments and tests under the guidance of senior staff
  • Continually seek out and learn new technical skills

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Bachelors Degree in physics, engineering, or similar field.
  • Some exposure to experimental physics systems, especially laser and optical systems.
  • Entrepreneurial drive, intellectual agility, and personal eagerness to develop with the needs of the business
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
  • Good collaboration skills, able to work in a team environment where engagement and participation are an expected part of successful job performance

This position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Please note that any offer for employment may be conditioned on authorization to receive software or technology controlled under these U.S. export control laws and regulations without sponsorship for an export license.

Desired Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency with Mathematica, LabView, MATLAB, SolidWorks, Python
  • Experience with, fiber optics, electronics, laser cooling, ultra-high vacuum

TRAVEL

Up to 10% local travel may be required

Benefits

The targeted salary range for this role is $80,000 to $105,000 on an annualized basis plus eligibility to participate in our annual incentive plan.
