Responsibilities
The Associate Administrator for Medical Specialties and the Outpatient Practice will partner with James Watson, M.D., chair of the Midwest Outpatient Practice Subcommittee, to provide strategic direction and oversight for clinical operations, drive digital innovation, quality initiatives and new care models, and lead the Rochester clinical operations team as Mayo Clinic transforms healthcare in alignment with its Bold. Forward. strategic plan.
The Associate Administrator reports to the chief administrative officer of Mayo Clinic in Rochester and participates in planning and implementation of the strategic and operational goals and objectives of the practice. The person in this role is accountable for providing guidance, leadership development and administrative support to their teams and committees, and is a servant leader who partners with physician, nursing and other multidisciplinary leaders to oversee all aspects of the Outpatient Practice and Medical Specialties teams. The Associate Administrator is responsible for planning, business objectives and fiscal management to achieve top decile quality and service performance. In collaboration with physician and administrative leaders throughout Mayo Clinic, the person in this position will enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensure the successful implementation of strategic initiatives in alignment with Mayo Clinic’s mission and values.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree in business or health care administration required; a minimum of five years of significant leadership and management experience is required; 10 years is preferred. Leadership and management experience must include working with physicians and allied health staff in a variety of assignments. Must have demonstrated competencies in leadership, management, operations, finance, and communication. Broad-based upper management experience is required in order to coordinate a wide range of activities across the organization. Must have deep knowledge of Mayo Clinic strategic priorities and broad understanding of institutional strengths and weaknesses pertinent to realizing Mayo Clinic’s priorities.
