Job Description
The Thunderbird Recruitment and Admissions department is seeking an Associate Director, Global Recruitment, who will be responsible for helping develop, lead, and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract a diverse applicant pool. Reporting to the Senior Director of Recruitment and Enrollment Management and in close consultation with additional key Thunderbird departments such as, Academics, Branding & Communications and Partnerships, this position will establish, enhance, manage, and evaluate strategic initiatives to achieve enrollment goals across all Thunderbird programs. The Associate Director of Global Recruitment will also be responsible for the management of a pool of prospective students of Thunderbird's Master of Global Management graduate degree program as well as the Doctorate of Professional Practice degree program.

Working Environment
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Required to stand for varying lengths of time, and walk moderate distances to perform work.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
  • Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Clearly communicate to perform essential functions of the job.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computer/technology peripherals.
  • This position receives annual managerial review of objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND seven (7) years of related administrative experience, which includes four (4) years of supervisory experience; OR, Eleven (11) years of related administrative experience, which includes four (4) years of supervisory experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Essential Duties
  • Provides prospective students with the highest level of customer service through effective and timely phone, email and face-to-face communication.
  • Leverages Salesforce (CRM system) to track and monitor lead activity and application status. Collaborates with Operations team on end-of-cycle clean up, program audits, final program data collection.
  • Balances tasks and activities to consistently follow unit standards for timely outreach and follow up.
  • Designs and executes recruitment events both virtually and in person with the assistance and consultation of the Senior Director of Recruitment & Admissions & Assistant Director of Recruitment Outreach.
  • Assists with targeted diversity recruitment: military, women, ethnic, geographic, etc.
  • Primary roles include: assists teams in diversity messaging and communication, creates email templates, assists admission with tracking applications, assists management with creating a follow-up plan to create connections, makes events and tracks diverse prospects in campaigns through the admissions cycle.
  • Assists the Recruitment and Admissions Team in identifying market trends that could potentially affect recruiting strategies, and develops recruitment and admission strategies around them.
  • Strategizes, plans and executes grassroot recruiting efforts to promote all three executive degree programs, while building relationship and rapport with prospective students.
  • Qualifies prospective students and retains the overall interest of admitted students between admit and the launch date of the program while working in tandem with individual program managers.
  • Acts as liaison and develops strong relationships with local organizations, corporations, Alumni, current student cohorts and other local networks that can aide recruitment efforts in the assigned markets through a variety of communication methods.
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates a team of graduate and undergraduate recruiters. Implements corrective action as required.
  • Conducts and assists with the development of long- and short-range goals. Develops objectives, and activities based on department goals. Develops, maintains, and implements department policies and procedures.
  • Resolves problems and issues affecting the department and recommends measures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
