Are you an experienced Dietary Aide well-versed in care plans, specialty diets and restrictions, and creating high-quality hospitality service? Do you have the ability to time manage and prioritize tasks, while staying calm and effectively communicating?  Eastcastle Place is looking for a dietary aide who is a leader and team player to join our growing team! This position is responsible for ensuring that resident receive food that is safe for them to eat and that meets their individual nutrition guidelines. To be a successful dietary aide, you should demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions. You should have excellent time management skills and be considerate and compassionate towards residents and team members.

Responsibilities:

• Set tables and maintain work stations in proper order.
• Correctly and efficiently serve meals to residents, employees or guests in the licensed areas. Take orders, provide service and requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about menu items.
• Plate according to residents meal ticket and be familiar with residents' therapeutic diets and personal food preferences.
• Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service. Wash and distribute clean dishes.
• Assist in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.
• Maintain safe and sanitary conditions in work areas and satellite kitchens, including the proper removal and disposal of all garbage and waste.
• Maintain personal cleanliness and practice proper sanitation techniques at all times.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least two years of previous food service experience in a nursing home Assisted Living and/or elderly rehabilitation community.
• Ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.
• Ability to work independently and in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers.  Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness.
• Possesses ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Must use sound judgement, works well under pressure, and possess strong organizational skills.
