Description:
TheUniversity of Illinois at Chicago Department of Emergency Medicine is seekingan outstanding individual for a faculty position in Pediatric EmergencyMedicine.
Thisposition is a tenured track position at the level of Assistant, Associate, orProfessor in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Thesuccessful applicant will play a leadership role in growing a pediatricEmergency Medicine clinical and educational program that spans four Chicagohospitals. Specific responsibilities encompass healthcare integration,professional development of pediatric and Emergency Medicine residents andfellows, competency assessment, quality and process improvement, outreach andcommunity growth.
Applicantswith a research and clinical interest in health outcomes, health disparities(e.g. Asthma, Sickle Cell Disease, Medical Toxicology) and Social Emergency Medicinewill be strongly considered. Emergency Medicine also offers multiplefellowships including Ultrasound, Medical Toxicology, Resuscitation, and SocialEmergency Medicine.
Qualifications:
MD,DO
Completionof an accredited Pediatric or Emergency Medicine Residency.
Completionof an ACGME or AOA accredited fellowship training program in PediatricEmergency Medicine.
Currentcertification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine by the American Board ofEmergency Medicine, American Board of Pediatrics, American Osteopathic Board ofEmergency Medicine, American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics, or currentparticipation in the certification process.
Abilityto obtain an Illinois Medical License
CurrentPALS or APLS Certification
Successfulcandidates will be offered protected time to engage in research as well asother academic interests, competitive compensation package, and a generousincentive plan. Candidates must be fellowship trained and boardeligible/certified in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
