Qualifications:
- A doctorate in Communication or related field is required; background in Cultural Studies and/or scholarship in the university’s target areas of Oceania and the Asian rim highly desirable; professional expertise in media practice a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Base teaching requirement is 24 (and optionally up to 30) semester credit hours per year over three semesters in some (but not all) of the following subject areas/courses:
- Introduction to Mass Communication, Global Communication, Popular Culture, Strategic Communication, and courses based on the candidate's field of experience
- Scholarship, creative endeavor, ongoing professional development, and university service are required.
- BYU-Hawaii’s primary focus is undergraduate learning and teaching. The individual should be fully committed to student learning (https://clt.byuh.edu/framework-for-learning).
Benefits:
- Approximate starting faculty contracted salary is$95,000.00 - $120,000.00. The wage offered could be above or below range based upon applicants’ education and experience as it relates to the job description.
- A limited relocation expense package is provided.
- Annually renewable contract eligible for Continuing Faculty Status (BYU-H equivalent of “tenure-track”)
- Standard BYU-Hawaii benefits package for regular full-time employees.
