Assistant Wedding Planner - Part-Time

Jeffrey A. Miller Catering is seeking an energetic, dedicated, and hardworking individual to help execute weddings and special events alongside a senior Event Designer. Job duties include but are not limited to set up and breakdown of décor items, setting up suites for the bridal party, guiding guests, seeing to the wedding couple and their families, and other event-based tasks as needed.

Assistant Event Planners support the Event Designers on the day of the event to ensure flawless execution.This is a weekend position and is great for someone looking to learn more about the wedding industry.

Location: Waterloo Village in Stanhope New Jersey

Duties/ Responsibilities:

• Be present at events, including party set up.
• Display stations and monitor all venue equipment during events.
• Client’s personal inventory per planner décor.
• Pack up client’s personal inventory items.
• Assist the event captain, where needed, during parties.
• Ensure JAM areas of each venue are neat and clean after parties.
• Monitor any problems and report to the venue manager.
• Assist the event designer with any other tasks, as needed.

Requirements:

• Should have a desire and interest to work in the hospitality field.
• Be able to interact effectively and communicate well with clients and staff.
• Independent thinker/worker, ability to follow a checklist.
• Must be available Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and work 1-2 events per weekend (Events are typically 10-12 hours of work).
• Must be able to stand, walk, lift for long periods of time (10+ hours)
