Job Description:

We are currently expanding our post-production team and are seeking skilled Assistant Video Editors to join our roster of freelance professionals on a project-to-project basis.

*Note, this is not a full-time or part-time gig. We would love to chat and get to know YOU and your body of work in order to add you to a roster of talented assistant editors we can call for specific projects. Daily rates will be based on experience level and project-specific budget.

Responsibilities:

Assistant Editing Expertise:

• Utilize your 2-3 years of AE experience to assist in crafting high-quality videos for a range of projects.
• Proficient in both short-form and long-form assistant editing, demonstrating adaptability to different content styles.

Technical Requirements:

• Own and maintain a personal editing setup, including necessary software and hardware (Premiere Pro).
• Ensure access to a hard-wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up to facilitate seamless collaboration and file transfers.
• Prep projects for lead editor(s) with the following:
• Media management
• Must be highly organized and able to follow protocols exactly to the letter
• Media ingest
• Creating and linking proxy media
• Syncing audio
• Labeling clips according to shotlist/production notes
• Create project-specific stringouts
• Prep locked cuts for mix and color teams
• Clean up sequences
• Create mix preps within project spec requirements
• Create color preps within project spec requirements
• Must understand and have experience in conform processes
• Work with mix and color teams to ensure proper translation through the post pipeline
• Delivery prep and final delivery
• QC mix and color for technical and creative consistency from pic lock
• Create final deliverables to client/project specs

Collaborative Team Player

• Work closely with the lead Video Editor, post producer, and other team members to understand project requirements and execute AE tasks accordingly.
• Communicate effectively to ensure project timelines and objectives are met.

Deadline Management:

• Complete assigned editing tasks within specified deadlines, maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of professional video assistant editing experience, with a portfolio showcasing a diverse range of editing projects.

Equipment:

• Own a fully equipped editing setup; hardware and software necessary for professional video editing, including Premiere Pro.

Internet Connection:

• Maintain a hard-wired internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up for seamless collaboration, file transfer and security.

Portfolio:

• Provide a comprehensive portfolio demonstrating your editing skills and showcasing your range in both short-form and long-form content.
