Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
Position Summary: The Assistant Vice President, Quality Management has oversight of the hospital's quality, regulatory and patient safety processes, as well as publicly reported measures. Ensures the Patient Safety & Performance Improvement Program is consistent with the Hospital's mission & Strategic Plan and complies with the requirements of all regulatory agencies.
Education/Training: bachelor's degree in nursing, Health Care Administration, other advanced health-related degree, or equivalent experience is required. Master's degree is preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Additional Requirements:
Five years Quality Management, quality improvement or patient safety experience in a hospital setting, with at least three years' experience in a supervisory capacity.
Experience with CMS, DOH, and accrediting organization's regulatory requirements.
Experience in high reliability organization and performance improvement project implementation.
Strong communication, writing, & presentation skills, as well as problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of statistics, appropriate sampling techniques, and metric development.
Ability to work in a standard office environment. Ability to use office equipment including computers,
telephones, calculators, copiers, and fax machines, with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Software (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience using the EPIC electronic medical records system, MIDAS, and/or Premier data analytics software programs, preferred.
Licensure, Registration or Certification: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and/or certification/training in performance improvement methodologies (e.g., PDSA, Lean Six Sigma, IHI Model for Improvement), strongly preferred.
