Duties and Responsibilities: 

30% Operates a chief advisor to the Vice Chancellors and Campus Provosts on Information Technology related (IT) matters including administrative computing network infrastructure and services, budgets and funding, new initiatives, and long-range planning.
Chairs the Information Systems Council and works with the Academic Computing Committee and other college councils and committees in providing the appropriate technological infrastructure to support the mission of Delgado Community College.
20% Helps determine and shape (in collaborating with all user communities) all IT policies for the college and is the key official for developing and recommending IT policies and procedures. Represents the college on city, region, state, national and private industry committees and councils and works with internal and external constituents on all matters related to lnformation Technology.
Ensure leadership and direction in all IT related matters at the college.
20% Enable sound IT decision making. Provide direction for IT staff in central and location units.
20% Provides a single point of accountability for central IT resources, creating a clear organization, funding and governance structure for Delgado Community College.
10% Assist the Chancellor with others duties and projects as assigned.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.

Required Experience: 3-5 years of overall IT experience, including three (3) years of senior/management level experience managing IT operations.

Required Licenses or Certifications: N/A

Preferred Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or institution in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related field geared towards education.

Preferred Experience: Experience working in a higher education setting in which technology is a key component in the delivery of education and ensuring compliance with accreditation regulations is desired.
Progressive leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in complex organizations with distributed environment. Proven experience in IT infrastructure strategic planning and development, project management and policy development. Knowledge of enterprise-wide systems (e.g., Ellucian/Banner). Proven ability to lead the implementation and expansion of new IT technologies.
Proficient use of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of a broad range of Informational technology areas including academic and administrative computing, ERP software solutions and information security. Knowledge of infrastructure management tools, methods and processes knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Strong project management skills. Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment. Ability to maintain an environment that fosters excellent customer service. Ability to build a high-performance computing environment.
Demonstrate willingness to lead take charge, and offer opinions and direction. Requires creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas for and answers to work related problems. Analyze information and use logic to address work issues. Demonstrate willingness to take on responsibilities and job challenges. Be open to change (positive or negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace. Must be a capable user of technology who understands the role of technology in the institution and who will guide and support its efficient and effective use. Experience in cyber-security by developing security systems, analyzing current systems for vulnerabilities, and handling any and all cyber attacks in an efficient and effective manner.
