Assistant Venue Manager - Evening

The evening Assistant Venue Manager is the final point of contact for Essence clients & vendors on the day of their event. However, the Assistant Venue Manager’s day begins before clients arrive at the venue. Familiarity with the event and vendor timeline, venue policies and day of tasks, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask are all the first steps to successful events at The Essence Event Center.

General Work Hours:
Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (time and days vary within timeframe): 4 pm - 2 am, including some holidays. This is a part time position.

Key Responsibilities

+ Familiarizing yourself with the day of schedule, identifying points of potential timeline or vendor bottlenecks.

+ Arriving prior to the guest arrival and meeting with the morning Assistant Venue Manager to review any changes or potential setbacks.

+ Make yourself available to answer questions and direct vendors and guests upon their arrival

+ Monitor event needs and direct staff accordingly
+ Assist the bartenders to ensure their needs are met
+ Close client bill at the conclusion of the event and control register closeout
+ Ensure the catering staff completes cleaning duties, and signs off before leaving the premises
+ Follow and enforce all venue policies and procedures
+ Report any changes, questions or violation of policies to the Venue Manager
+ Complete tasks checklist before leaving the venue

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.

+ Ability to interpret and enforce venue policies and procedures.
+ Ability to apply decision-making authority.
+ Ability to work efficiently, prioritize and multitask.

Pay: $25/hour depending on experience. Holidays pay time and a half.

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
