Assistant Underwriter
The Assistant Underwriter at DOXA is part of a growing team that will serve our Promont Insurance Advisors business unit. The assignment will be assisting underwriters for our P&C business at Promont Insurance Advisors, in their Non-Profit / Church program. There may be opportunities to support other DOXA businesses in the same capacity.
The Assistant Underwriter will help this team of underwriters complete binders, process endorsements, collection of binding information, and notices of cancelations timely and accurately.
Job Responsibilities
- Learn and understand business processes and systems used to process business transactions
- Complete binders and policies and issue them to brokers according to underwriting guidelines
- Follow up on subjectivities with broker and underwriters so that they are completed within guidelines
- Review, evaluate and process endorsements for existing policies
- Ability to prioritize and work for multiple business partners
- Assist the underwriting team with other duties as projects arise
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years insurance industry experience
- Solid understanding of insurance and underwriting terms, definitions, and processes
- Good communication skills, especially being concise and direct in email correspondence
- Great attention to detail
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Four-year college degree strongly preferred
